U.S. President Donald Trump has once again spoken about the India – Pakistan conflict. Addressing a Gaza peace council meeting, he said that he personally stopped the war. He also claimed that 11 costly fighter jets were shot down during the clashes. Trump stated that both countries stepped back as they feared financial losses without trade agreements.
Reports say Trump has made similar claims more than 80 times on different occasions. However, India has consistently rejected these statements. It has clearly said that it does not accept third-party involvement in matters related to Pakistan.
When Trump first made this claim, he mentioned that 5 fighter jets were downed. A few months later, he raised the number to 7. Now, he has said that 11 jets were lost. Despite the changing figures, Trump continues to insist that his role was key in stopping the conflict.
