A fierce exchange of fire has erupted once again in Chhattisgarh. Security forces gunned down four more Maoists during an intense encounter in the dense forests of Bijapur district. According to reports, police received intel that members of the Maddedu Area Committee were hiding in the Marikella forest area under Taralgudem police limits. Acting swiftly, the joint security forces launched a major combing operation in the Annaram–Marikella region.
Heavy gunfire broke out between Maoists and police, resulting in the death of four ultras. Just a day earlier, three Maoists were neutralized in the same region. This series of operations is part of the Centre’s ongoing ‘Operation Kagar’, aimed at completely eliminating Maoist presence in the red corridor. Security forces continue to comb the area as tensions remain high.
