

According to the Telangana State Election Commission, campaigning for the municipal elections will officially end today at 5 PM. Polling is scheduled for the 11th, with counting to take place on the 13th. A 48-hour “election silence” period has been enforced prior to polling, during which no rallies, meetings or processions are allowed, the State Election Commissioner Rani Kumudini clarified.
Under the regulations, no campaigning is permitted through television, cinema or music shows. Restrictions also apply to social media and mobile phone-based campaigning. The Election Commission has warned that violations of these rules may result in imprisonment for up to two years or fines.
All political parties and candidates in the state are required to strictly adhere to these rules. The Election Commission emphasized that these measures are being implemented to maintain the integrity and transparency of the elections.
