The upcoming film Battle of Galwan, starring superstar Salman Khan in the lead role, has become an international talking point even before its release. Recently, China’s official media has expressed strong displeasure over the project. In particular, the state-affiliated newspaper Global Times has launched a series of allegations against the film.
According to Global Times, the movie allegedly distorts the historical narrative of the Galwan Valley clash and attempts to provoke anti-China sentiments. The publication went on to claim that Indian forces were responsible for the tensions in Galwan, making what many have termed misleading and unfounded remarks that aim to misrepresent facts and mislead the international community.
The Chinese media further alleged that the film has been made with the intention of tarnishing China’s image and that India is using it as a tool to damage China’s international reputation. It reiterated accusations that India is reshaping historical narratives to suit its own interests. However, since the Galwan incident is a sensitive subject reflecting patriotism and the sacrifices of soldiers, the film has generated massive interest among Indian audiences. Ironically, the criticism from Chinese media has only amplified attention toward the project, turning Battle of Galwan into a major hot topic even before its release.
