Chaos gripped the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Shamshabad, from late last night due to technical issues in several IndiGo flights. Operations to major destinations including Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, and Delhi were severely disrupted. As a result, nearly 1,000 passengers were stranded at the airport for hours, leading to widespread frustration and confusion. IndiGo staff were seen struggling to provide clear answers as passengers demanded updates.
A Bengaluru-bound flight scheduled for 2:00 AM was reportedly kept on the runway for nearly two hours before passengers were asked to deboard and wait inside the terminal. Several international travellers missed their connecting flights, while others heading for visa interviews in different states were left distressed. Tensions escalated as passengers confronted the airline staff over the lack of communication and delays.
