

British Deputy High Commissioner Gareth Wynn Owen visited the world-famous Medaram Maha Jatara and offered prayers at the Sammakka–Saralamma temple. He participated in the Tulabharam ritual and fulfilled his vows to the tribal deities. Dressed in traditional handloom attire, his appearance drew attention from devotees and officials alike. He described witnessing the historic festival as a unique and memorable experience.
Minister Seethakka and District Collector T.S. Diwakar briefed the visiting dignitary on the significance of the Medaram Jatara, the newly constructed gaddelu, the rich Adivasi heritage, and the arrangements made for devotees.
