

The Andhra Pradesh government has decided to complete and hand over 2.61 lakh TIDCO houses in urban areas across the state by June. To facilitate this, the Cabinet approved a government guarantee for a ₹4,451 crore loan to be taken by AP TIDCO from HUDCO for housing construction and infrastructure works. The Cabinet also approved the government takeover of the Piduguralla teaching hospital, expanding its capacity from 330 to 420 beds, along with recruitment and redeployment of required staff. The state Cabinet meeting, chaired by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, was held on Wednesday at the Secretariat, and the decisions were announced by Information and Public Relations Minister Kolusu Parthasarathy.
Among other key decisions, the Cabinet approved the transfer of 33 acres of land in Palamaneru, Chittoor district, for establishing a new agricultural market yard, cancellation of the 2019 LOI issued to Garden City Reality due to non-development, and fresh tenders for tourism projects. Approval was also granted for development of a cultural centre and entertainment zone at Guntur Shilparamam with an investment of ₹25 crore. International athlete and Arjuna Awardee Yarraji Jyothi will be provided a Group-1 level job after completion of her degree and a 500-square-yard residential plot in Visakhapatnam. The Cabinet further cleared land allotment for a Kendriya Vidyalaya in Annamayya district, additional ₹11,850 crore loan for AP Beverages Corporation, stone quarrying for Polavaram project works worth ₹247.12 crore, and new plot allotments in Amaravati through lottery to resolve layout objections.
