AP Announces New Schemes for Women

On the occasion of International Women’s Day on March 8, the Government of Andhra Pradesh announced new welfare schemes aimed at supporting women across the state. Under the NTR Vidyalakshmi scheme, women can avail loans of up to ₹1 lakh at a nominal interest rate to support their children’s education. The initiative is designed to ease the financial burden on families and encourage higher education.

Another major initiative, NTR Kalyanalakshmi, provides financial assistance within 48 hours for the marriage of daughters, ensuring timely support for eligible families. In addition, animators will receive free smartphones worth ₹15,000 to help them in their work and communication. These schemes reflect the government’s commitment to women’s empowerment and social welfare.
