Director Koratala Siva has been working hard on the sequel of Devara for more than a year now. Fans, however, are still waiting despite his efforts because Devara 2 keeps getting delayed. Production on the sequel was originally supposed to start around this time, but scheduling conflicts have caused it to start later than expected.
NTR's dedication to his next project with director Prashanth Neel, which has also experienced shooting delays, is the primary cause of the postponement. According to reports, the movie is now being planned as a two-part saga with back-to-back releases, and the actor is anticipated to be busy with that project until the second half of 2026. Should this prove to be accurate, Devara 2's production may be further delayed.
It would still take about a year to finish the filming of Devara 2, even if NTR is able to set aside dates for it after finishing the first installment of Dragon. Meanwhile, Koratala Siva is reportedly at a crossroads whether to wait until NTR becomes available or to take up a smaller, quicker project in between. Industry buzz suggests that taking on a short-term project might be a practical move for the director instead of waiting indefinitely.
