A controversy has erupted ahead of the release of Police Complaint, with actress Varalaxmi Sarathkumar and director Sanjeev Megoti making headlines. The director recently alleged that Varalaxmi failed to cooperate with the film’s promotional activities despite playing a key role in the project. He also claimed that the team faced difficulties during the dubbing process and expressed disappointment over the lack of support from the actress during the film’s pre-release campaign.
Responding through social media, Varalaxmi clarified that she attended all events she was officially invited to and fulfilled her professional responsibilities. She stated that she was unaware of the complete context of the director’s remarks and preferred not to comment without full information. However, her Instagram story carrying the message, “Some dogs bark but don’t bite. I don’t bark, I bite,” quickly went viral, with many interpreting it as an indirect response to the filmmaker. As the film gears up for its June 12 release, the controversy has significantly increased public attention around the project.
