

The Central Government announced the winners of the 72nd National Film Awards for the year 2024. More than 400 films were reviewed by the jury, which selected the best performers across various categories. The Best Actor award was shared by Kartik Aaryan for ‘Chandu Champion’ and Mammootty for ‘Bramayugam’. Yami Gautam won the Best Actress award for ‘Article 370’, while Rajkumar Periasamy was honoured with the Best Director award for ‘Amaran’.
The Telugu film industry achieved a major milestone as ‘Committee Kurrollu’ won the National Award for Best Telugu Film. ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ received the award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment. ‘Pushpa 2’ won the Best Original Screenplay award, while ‘Lucky Bhaskar’ received recognition for Best Screenplay with Dialogues. ‘Amaran’ won awards in music and editing categories, and ‘Bramayugam’ received the Best Cinematography award. The prestigious awards honoured outstanding films and artists from different Indian languages and technical fields.
