Rakul in a Key Role in ‘Ramayana’ A New Avatar as Shurpanakha

‘Ramayana,’ one of the most prestigious projects in Bollywood, is generating massive buzz across the country. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari on a grand scale, the film stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Yash as Ravana. Now, another interesting update about the film has grabbed attention. According to reports from Bollywood circles, Rakul Preet Singh has been selected to play the role of Surpanakha. It is also said that her look test was recently completed in Mumbai.

Reports suggest that Rakul has already participated in the shooting, adding more strength to the ongoing buzz. Known mostly for glamorous roles, Rakul’s transformation into a mythological character has increased curiosity among fans. Meanwhile, important action sequences featuring Yash are currently being filmed. The makers are using advanced visual effects to present the film on an international level. Planned as a two-part epic, the first installment is expected to release during Diwali this year, while the second part is scheduled for Diwali 2027.
