Fresh political tensions have surfaced within All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam as two separate factions have reportedly submitted claims for the post of Legislative Party leader. Around 30 MLAs are said to have backed S. P. Velumani as the AIADMK Legislative Party leader, while another group of 17 MLAs has extended support to Edappadi K. Palaniswami.
Both factions have reportedly submitted their respective letters to the Assembly Secretary, intensifying speculation over a possible internal split in the party. Political circles are closely watching the developments, as the officially recognised AIADMK faction inside the Tamil Nadu Assembly will only become clear after the election of the Speaker. The issue has triggered fresh debate over leadership and unity within the party.
