Actor-turned-politician Vijay is set to face a crucial strength test in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly today, amid intense political developments in the state. The Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) has already secured the support of Congress, Left parties, VCK, and IUML, strengthening Vijay’s position ahead of the floor test.
Sources indicate that a faction of the AIADMK may also extend support to TVK during the trust vote. The Tamil Nadu Assembly has a total strength of 234 members, while 232 MLAs are expected to attend the session. To prove its majority, TVK requires the support of 117 members. Current numbers indicate TVK holds 106 MLAs, with additional backing from Congress (5), Left parties (4), IUML (2), and VCK (2).
