The murder case of Chandranath Rath, personal assistant to West Bengal opposition leader Suvendu Adhikari, has been handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The West Bengal government officially transferred the investigation to the central agency amid growing political attention surrounding the case.
The CBI has constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) comprising seven members under the leadership of a DIG-level officer to probe the murder case. The agency is expected to conduct a detailed investigation into all aspects related to the incident.
