Venkatesh, the father of medico Priyanka, who died after being hit by a car allegedly driven by youths under the influence of alcohol in Rajamahendravaram, said the police responded promptly in the case. He expressed his disappointment over what he termed distorted coverage by some television channels and clarified that he had not blamed either the government or the police for the incident.
Speaking from the grief of losing his daughter, Venkatesh appealed to the media with folded hands not to broadcast reports that could cause further distress to his family. He said the family was already going through immense pain and requested media organisations to report the facts responsibly and sensitively. He reiterated that his comments should not be interpreted as criticism of the government or the police.
