

The second phase of the Padma Awards presentation ceremony was held with grandeur at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Tuesday, where President Droupadi Murmu conferred prestigious civilian honours on 66 distinguished personalities. Among the recipients of the Padma Vibhushan were veteran Malayalam journalist P. Narayanan and former Supreme Court judge Justice K.T. Thomas for their exceptional contributions to literature, education, and public service. Renowned oncologist Dr. Nori Dattatreyudu, known for his relentless fight against cancer, was honoured with the Padma Bhushan.
Several eminent personalities from diverse fields also received national recognition. Actor Mammootty, singer Alka Yagnik, former tennis player Vijay Amritraj, social leader Vellappally Natesan, and late Jharkhand leader Shibu Soren were among the Padma Bhushan awardees. Telugu personalities Murali Mohan and Gadde Rajendra Prasad received Padma Shri awards for their contributions to cinema. Scientist Chandramouli Gaddamanugu, CCMB researcher Kumarasamy Thangaraj, and innovation expert Krishnamurthy Balasubramanian were also honoured. The ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan, Union Ministers, and other dignitaries.
