Indians living abroad (NRIs) are showing interest in buying houses and real estate in their homeland. While in the past, investment and property appreciation were the main goals, now they are giving priority to factors such as rental income, better construction quality, transportation facilities, and medical services. The idea of creating a comfortable residence for their parents is also influencing their decisions. In this context, reports reveal that the cities of Mumbai, Bengaluru, Delhi-NCR, Pune, and Hyderabad are attracting the attention of NRIs. International flight facilities, expanding infrastructure, and residential properties available at various prices in the country's financial capital Mumbai are attracting NRIs. With new areas developing in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, purchasing opportunities are increasing outside the traditionally expensive areas.
In Bengaluru, which is the center of the IT sector, buyers are showing interest in Whitefield, Sarjapur, and North Bengaluru. The demand for rental properties is also attracting investors due to the high number of job opportunities.Premium residential projects, corporate houses, and improving transportation facilities in Gurugram, which is located in the Delhi-NCR region, are attracting buyers. For NRIs with family members in the capital region, buying a house there is becoming another advantage.
With the development of IT and medical sectors, and expanding infrastructure, Hyderabad is also emerging as an attractive real estate hub for NRIs. Especially in the western and northwestern parts of the city, interest is growing in residential areas connected to the Outer Ring Road. Easy access to job centers and transportation facilities are becoming key factors in purchasing decisions.
Reports suggest that NRI families are also considering the future needs of their parents while buying a house. Proximity to medical services, social connections, public spaces, and facilities to get help when needed are also important. This means that real estate purchase decisions in the country are not just about investment but also about family needs.
