A crucial meeting on interstate water issues will be held on Thursday at Munirabad in Karnataka’s Koppal district. The event has been organized following the replacement of old gates with new ones at the Tungabhadra Dam. Several important leaders are expected to attend the meeting.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, and Union Jal Shakti Minister C.R. Patil are scheduled to participate. Discussions are likely to focus on the Rajolibanda Diversion Scheme (RDS), the Tungabhadra project, and various interstate issues related to Krishna river waters.
Ahead of the meeting, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy held a review meeting with Irrigation Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy at Jalasoudha. The discussions covered the modernization of the RDS project, Telangana’s water share, and pending interstate disputes. The state government plans to raise these issues before the Union Minister to safeguard Telangana’s irrigation rights.
