Goodbye to Signals.. New Flyover in the City..!

In a major boost for Hyderabad’s infrastructure, the Telangana government has initiated plans to construct a new Y-shaped flyover in the heart of the city. The project aims to reduce heavy traffic congestion between Nampally and Lakdikapul. The Detailed Project Report (DPR) has already been prepared, and administrative approvals are expected soon. The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) is designing the project, which has already received in-principle approval from the state government.

The flyover will begin near Suravaram Pratap Reddy Telugu University and extend via Public Gardens, behind the Assembly, crossing the railway track up to Lakdikapul. It will then split into two routes—one connecting to Masab Tank flyover and the other towards Khairatabad. Spanning 1.45 km with three lanes, the flyover is expected to provide signal-free travel and significantly ease congestion, especially during Assembly sessions.
