Lieutenant General Dheeraj Seth has been appointed as the next Chief of the Indian Army. The Government of India issued the official orders on Saturday, confirming his elevation to the top post.
Currently serving as the Vice Chief of the Army, he will take over from General Upendra Dwivedi, who is set to retire by the end of this month. Commissioned into the Armoured Corps in 1986, Lt Gen Seth brings nearly four decades of distinguished service. He also holds the distinction of being the first from his corps to be appointed as Army Chief and led the 2023 Republic Day Parade.
