The Central Government has announced a major relief for LPG consumers by restoring non-domestic packed LPG supplies to pre-crisis levels. Restrictions imposed during the West Asia crisis have been withdrawn, while bulk LPG supply, which was previously suspended, has now been restored by 50 percent. The decision comes as domestic production has improved and imported LPG cargo availability has stabilized.
To ensure uninterrupted availability, the government has decided to maintain domestic LPG production at a minimum of 40 thousand metric tonnes per day. Additional C3-C4 streams will be allocated to petrochemical and industrial sectors to support production activities. The move is expected to benefit commercial establishments, industries, and consumers, while the government continues to promote the expansion of Piped Natural Gas (PNG) networks as part of its clean energy and energy security initiatives.
