A young boy created panic at the famous Baoquan Cliff World Scenic Area in Henan Province, China, after damaging a glass panel on the world famous glass bridge with an umbrella. The incident, which occurred on June 20, came to light only recently. Bridge staff immediately evacuated tourists as a precaution.
According to officials, the bridge is designed with three protective glass layers, and each panel can withstand several thousand kilograms of weight. The damaged panel lost only its top protective layer, while the remaining two layers stayed completely intact, ensuring the bridge remained structurally safe.
Authorities said the damaged panel will be replaced soon after coordinating with the manufacturer. They also reiterated that the bridge is built to safely accommodate more than 100 visitors at a time, and the evacuation was carried out purely as a safety measure.
