The Amarnath Yatra resumed on Sunday with thousands of pilgrims beginning their journey from the Bhagwati Nagar base camp in Jammu. Nearly 5,000 devotees left in the first convoy and are travelling towards the Baltal base camp, one of the two major routes leading to the sacred Amarnath cave shrine in Jammu and Kashmir. Security forces accompanied the convoy to ensure the safety of pilgrims throughout the journey.
Authorities have strengthened security and logistical arrangements following the temporary suspension of the pilgrimage. Medical teams, emergency services and traffic management personnel have been deployed along the route to facilitate a smooth and secure pilgrimage. Officials have urged devotees to follow safety guidelines and cooperate with authorities during the yatra.
