A major step toward peace between Israel and Lebanon has been taken with the signing of a trilateral framework agreement involving the United States, Israel, and Lebanon. The agreement was signed in Washington after four days of talks in the presence of US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, along with senior diplomats from Israel and Lebanon. Leaders described it as an important step following months of conflict involving Hezbollah.
Marco Rubio said the agreement marks the beginning of a peace process, though significant challenges remain. He emphasized that both nations deserve lasting peace and security. The framework reportedly outlines gradual Israeli withdrawal from parts of southern Lebanon while Lebanese forces deploy in designated areas. However, the details remain undisclosed, and Hezbollah has been excluded from the agreement, raising concerns of further internal tensions in Lebanon.
