Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief C. Joseph Vijay is reportedly preparing to enter the media sector after achieving significant political success. According to reports, the party is considering launching its own news channel to communicate government initiatives, party policies, and public messages directly to the people. During the election campaign, social media played a major role in TVK’s success, while limited support from mainstream media was often discussed within party circles.
Industry reports suggest that a new television news channel named ‘Vetri News’ may be launched on June 22, coinciding with Vijay’s birthday. The word ‘Vetri’ means ‘victory’ in Tamil, a term already associated with the party’s identity. Political observers believe the channel could become an important communication platform for TVK. However, it remains unclear whether the channel will function as an independent news network or primarily as a party-backed media outlet.
