

Indian equity markets opened on a strong note today after global crude oil prices declined amid easing tensions between the United States and Iran. Brent crude fell by 4.3% to around $92 per barrel, while buying interest in banking and FMCG stocks boosted market sentiment. The Indian rupee also strengthened against the US dollar, trading at 96.24.
The Sensex, which closed the previous session at 76,059, opened nearly 600 points higher and continued its upward momentum. At 9:40 AM, the Sensex was up 627 points at 76,687, while the Nifty gained 176 points to trade at 23,943. IDFC First Bank, Oracle Financial Services, KFin Technologies, AU Small Finance Bank, and Laurus Labs were among the top gainers, whereas ONGC, Oil India, Bank of India, Motilal Oswal, and Paytm traded in the red.
