Vehicle owners across the country have received a shock as the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) announced an increase in FASTag annual pass prices. The current annual pass fee of ₹3,000 will be raised by 2.5 percent, taking the revised price to ₹3,075. According to NHAI, the new rates will come into effect from April 1.
However, FASTag users have been given a window of opportunity. If they recharge their annual pass on or before March 31, they can still avail it at the existing price of ₹3,000. Once the FASTag annual pass is purchased, motorists can travel across the country without stopping at toll plazas for one year or up to 200 toll crossings, whichever occurs first. Users will also have the flexibility to recharge the pass multiple times within a year if required.
Officials from NHAI stated that the price revision is part of the annual toll rate adjustment as per the guidelines of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. The annual FASTag pass scheme, which was launched on August 15, 2026, has received a positive response from motorists. So far, more than 5.2 million vehicle owners have availed themselves of this facility, according to officials.
