Virat Kohli Gets Grand Welcome in Kerala

Indian cricketer Virat Kohli received a grand traditional welcome from local fans and hospitality staff upon his arrival in Kerala ahead of the three match ODI series against the West Indies. After landing at Thiruvananthapuram International Airport, security personnel escorted Kohli through the crowd to the team hotel, where he was welcomed with a formal red-carpet ceremony.

Kohli’s return to the ODI format has generated significant interest among local cricket fans. More than 35,000 tickets for the opening match at Greenfield International Stadium sold out within 24 hours. The upcoming ODI series is also part of India’s broader preparations for the 2027 ICC ODI World Cup.
