Punjab Kings all-rounder Suryansh Shedge has earned his maiden call-up to the Indian cricket team. He was included in the squad for the upcoming T20 series against Ireland and England. Suryansh replaced Hyderabad all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy, who suffered a left thigh injury after the third ODI against Afghanistan on June 20.
Following medical examinations, the BCCI medical team advised Nitish Kumar Reddy to undergo rehabilitation, ruling him out of both T20 series. Reports suggest that he may also miss the upcoming ODI matches as he is expected to spend at least four weeks at the BCCI rehabilitation centre.
Suryansh impressed selectors with his performances for India A in the recently concluded tri-series in Sri Lanka. He scored 147 runs in five matches and bowled 23 overs. In the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024-25, he scored 131 runs at a strike rate of 251.92 for Mumbai. In IPL 2026, he scored 158 runs in 8 matches for Punjab Kings at a strike rate of 175.56.
