The political war between former minister and Jana Sena leader Balineni Srinivasa Reddy and TDP MLA Damacharla Janardhan has intensified in Ongole, with Balineni once again making corruption allegations against the ruling party legislator. Balineni alleged that Janardhan had made remarks about sending him to jail and questioned why an investigation should not be conducted into both of them under the supervision of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. He also alleged that cases were being filed against his followers and that they were being harassed.
Balineni further alleged that ₹8.5 crore had gone missing from the Ongole Municipal Corporation and demanded that Janardhan explain where the money had gone. He said he was ready to take an oath at Kanipakam temple to prove the allegations made against Janardhan. Balineni also questioned whether Janardhan could have won the Ongole Assembly election without Jana Sena support and challenged him to contest independently. He said he was ready for such a contest and asked whether Janardhan was prepared to accept the challenge.
