Tourism in Telangana is witnessing steady growth across three major segments—spiritual, historical, and leisure tourism. According to tourism department data, visitors are showing increasing interest in spiritual destinations and heritage monuments, while scenic locations and wildlife attractions are also drawing significant crowds. Among all destinations, the Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple at Yadagirigutta continues to record heavy footfall, with an average of over 40,000 devotees visiting daily. In June 2025 alone, the temple received a record 20.06 lakh visitors, while total annual footfall crossed 1.58 crore devotees.
The Vemulawada Rajarajeshwara Temple attracted nearly 18.75 lakh visitors in August 2025, while the Basara Gnana Saraswati Temple, renowned for the Aksharabhyasam ritual, welcomed around four lakh devotees each during May and June. Tourism statistics for January–December 2025 reveal that spiritual destinations dominate the top three positions among the most visited locations. Hyderabad Zoo Park secured the fourth position, while historic landmarks such as Golconda Fort and Charminar also featured among the top ten tourist attractions, highlighting the state’s growing appeal as a combined spiritual and heritage tourism hub.
