Israel–Iran War Escalates: Heavy Airstrikes on Tehran, Regional Tensions Intensify!

The ongoing war between Israel and Iran, involving support from the United States, continues to intensify with devastating consequences across West Asia. On the fifth day of the conflict, heavy airstrikes targeted Tehran and several other Iranian cities. Israel reportedly deployed around 100 fighter jets and dropped nearly 250 bombs on a major Iranian military headquarters in eastern Tehran, which houses units of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and other strategic divisions. Iranian media broadcast visuals of large explosions and buildings collapsing in the capital, while attacks were also reported in the Shia religious center of Qom.

Iran retaliated by launching ballistic missiles and drones targeting Israel and several Gulf countries. Missile alerts and explosions were reported in Jerusalem, while drones were fired toward strategic sites in the region, including an oil refinery in Ras Tanura and areas near Dubai. According to Iranian officials, more than 1,045 people have been killed so far due to the ongoing airstrikes. The conflict has also shaken global markets, pushing crude oil prices to around 84 dollars per barrel, the highest level since mid-2024, while stock markets across the world recorded sharp declines. Meanwhile, several international flights to Gulf destinations were cancelled due to security concerns.
