

Tirumala Town Police on Friday arrested two interstate thieves who were cheating devotees through deceptive conversations and committing thefts, said CI Sriramudu. The accused were identified as Konda Balakrishna alias Ramesh from Jangaon district of Telangana and Manda Naveen from Hanumakonda district. Police stated that the duo had formed a gang and were involved in criminal activities.
On the 28th of this month, they befriended Shivakumar from Karnataka near PAC-5, and on the 29th, they gained the trust of another devotee from Telangana in the vicinity of the Kalyanakatta sheds. Using deceptive tactics, they took possession of the devotees’ luggage bags and stole cash and valuable items from them.
Based on complaints lodged by the victims, Town Police registered a case and launched an investigation. The accused were arrested at the Rambhaghicha car parking area and the police recovered a mobile phone along with cash amounting to ₹45,000 from their possession.
