Prominent filmmaker Teja’s son, Amitov Teja, was allegedly duped by a Hyderabad-based couple who promised huge trading profits. Believing their assurances, Amitov invested a total of ₹63 lakh with the couple, who now face a case registered against them at Jubilee Hills Police Station. Amitov, a professional businessman, resides in Hyderabad.
In April 2025, Amitov was introduced to the couple, Anusha Yarlagadda and Praneeth Kondapaneni from Mothinagar. They convinced him that investing in trading would yield unexpected profits and assured that in case of losses, they would compensate with an apartment flat. Trusting their claims, Amitov made the investments.
A week later, the couple showed him fabricated documents claiming a profit of ₹9 lakh. Believing these to be genuine, Amitov transferred the remaining amount in installments, totaling ₹63 lakh. When the promised returns failed to materialize and the principal amount was not returned, Amitov realized he had been cheated and approached the Jubilee Hills Police.
