BRS Working President K. T. Rama Rao (KTR) has countered Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy’s earlier challenge of seeking votes only after delivering 20 lakh Indiramma houses. KTR asserted that the minister should fulfill his promise before asking for public support. He criticized Congress leaders for making bold claims and failing to implement them, urging them to demonstrate commitment through action rather than rhetoric. Responding to Ponguleti’s remarks on housing in GHMC, KTR emphasized that BRS has a proven track record in delivering housing for the poor.
He stated that the party constructed double-bedroom houses instead of temporary shelters and claimed that over one lakh such homes were built in Hyderabad. KTR argued that each of these houses is equivalent to seven Indiramma houses in quality and value. He challenged the government to surpass this achievement if they have the intent and capability. He also demanded a white paper detailing the number of houses constructed and demolished in the past two and a half years, alleging that the government is diverting attention from unfulfilled promises, including multiple guarantees and declarations.
