The Central Government has clarified its stand on the India–US trade deal. It announced that India will not purchase crude oil from countries facing sanctions and confirmed that there are no plans to import oil from Venezuela. The government also stated that it will not compromise on the interests of farmers. According to the Centre, the India–US trade agreement will strengthen the country’s economy and benefit multiple sectors.
Union Minister Piyush Goyal said the trade deal would bring advantages to all sections of society. He accused the opposition of spreading misinformation about the agreement and criticized their behaviour in the Lok Sabha. He also alleged that Rahul Gandhi has shown a double standard regarding the trade deal issue.
