Leading IT company Capgemini is showing strong interest in starting its operations from Visakhapatnam. Representatives from the company have already met Andhra Pradesh IT Minister Nara Lokesh to discuss the possibilities.
On Thursday, the company team visited the city to inspect suitable land for setting up their facility. Bheemili RDO Sangeet Madhur, Visakhapatnam Rural Tahsildar Paul Kiran, representatives from Ease of Doing Business and APIIC officials accompanied the team. They first visited a 20-acre site at Hill-1 in the Madhurawada IT Park, near Miracle Solutions.
Later, they examined another site near the land allocated for the Google Data Center at Adavivaram and also explored a few more locations in the Visakhapatnam Rural and Anandapuram mandals. The company will soon submit its report and suggestions to the government. With this move, Vizag appears closer to hosting another major IT hub.
