Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has once again made sensational remarks in his trademark style. Speaking about the upcoming Bollywood film ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ (Dhurandhar 2), starring Ranveer Singh, he predicted that the movie could make a massive impact at the box office. According to Varma, if the film collects between ₹1500 crore and ₹2000 crore worldwide, it could challenge the current dominance of South Indian films in the industry.
In an interview, Varma stated that audiences are increasingly drawn to stories that are closer to reality rather than exaggerated cinematic elements. He also commented that many South Indian films still follow older storytelling patterns. Varma noted that ‘Dhurandhar 2’ is being heavily promoted in the southern states as well. Expressing confidence in the film, he said that audiences are already connected to the characters and storyline from the first part. Similar to the ‘Baahubali’ style of filmmaking, both parts were reportedly shot as a continuous narrative, which could help the second installment achieve even greater box office success.
