Nayanthara is set for her fifth release of the year with Mookuthi Amman 2, which is scheduled to hit theatres tomorrow, November 6, 2026. Directed by Sundar C, this devotional drama is being released in Telugu under the title Mahasakthi. However, the film has failed to generate significant pre-release buzz among Telugu audiences, raising concerns about its opening. With limited promotional excitement, the makers are largely relying on positive word of mouth to attract viewers after its release. The film will need encouraging audience responses to gain momentum at the Telugu box office.
Adding to the challenge, Mahasakthi is facing stiff competition from films such as Ramayana and Scene. The competition could make it difficult for the film to draw audiences unless it receives favourable reviews and strong word of mouth. Regina Cassandra plays the antagonist, while the cast also includes Duniya Vijay, Ajay Ghosh, Urvashi, Abhinaya and Yogi Babu in important roles. The devotional drama is produced by Vels Film International and Rowdy Pictures. Whether Nayanthara’s latest film can overcome the lack of pre-release buzz and find an audience in Telugu remains to be seen.
