A fresh dispute between producers and exhibitors has once again become a major talking point in Tollywood. The decision to halt the screening of Mytri Movie Makers’ film ‘Jetly’ in multiplex theatres has sparked widespread debate in the industry. A letter released by Mytri representative Sashidhar has now created further buzz. He stated that issues related to single-screen theatres should not be extended to multiplex chains.
He also alleged that there are no direct disputes with multiplex operators and that the move was made only to create pressure. Mytri Movie Makers said they are ready for discussions and called for a transparent resolution to the issue. Trade circles fear that if such disputes continue, the film business could face serious damage in the coming days.
Note: Official responses from exhibitors and further developments in the issue are still awaited.
