Kalki 2 - What Is Nag Ashwin’s Plan?

Expectations around ‘Kalki 2’ have soared following the strong reception to Prabhas-starrer ‘Kalki 2898 AD’, directed by Nag Ashwin. The film recently won two National Awards in the Best Popular Film and Best Special Effects categories. Speaking on the occasion, Nag Ashwin revealed that regular shooting for ‘Kalki 2’ is scheduled to begin in October 2026. The makers are reportedly planning to complete the principal photography by mid-2027 once production begins.

However, there is also discussion about the challenges involved in executing such a tight schedule. Prabhas is currently shooting for ‘Fauzi’ and is expected to move on to Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s ‘Spirit’ before joining the sets of ‘Kalki 2’. The makers will also have to coordinate dates with other key cast members. Given the film’s large-scale production and extensive visual effects, maintaining the shooting schedule will be crucial. With ‘Fauzi’ and ‘Spirit’ lined up ahead of it, ‘Kalki 2’ continues to generate considerable interest across the country.
