Good News for Young Filmmakers from Telangana Government

The Telangana Film Development Corporation (FDC) has announced Young Filmmaker Challenge 2026 – Season 2 on the occasion of this year’s Bathukamma festival. FDC Chairman Dil Raju unveiled the special poster along with FDC MD G. Mukunda Reddy, State Government Creative Director Raj Konda and FDC ED Kishore Babu. The competition will feature short films and song contests based on Telangana’s history, culture, festivals, art forms and government welfare schemes. This year, folk songs, influencer videos on government schemes and articles have also been included.

Short films submitted for the competition must not exceed three minutes, while songs should have a maximum runtime of five minutes and be in 4K resolution. Interested participants can submit their entries by September 15, 2026, via email or WhatsApp. The first prize is ₹3 lakh, the second prize is ₹2 lakh and the third prize is ₹1 lakh. Five additional participants will receive consolation prizes of ₹20,000 each, along with certificates and mementoes. A jury of experts will select the winners.
