US President Donald Trump has temporarily ruled out the possibility of immediate military strikes against Iran, stating that Washington will not attack the country for now. He said he was weighing whether to resolve the dispute through an agreement or to “finish the job” through military action. Although his latest remarks have eased the immediate threat of an attack, the possibility of future military action or diplomatic negotiations remains open.
Iran has said that diplomatic messages are still being exchanged through intermediaries despite the suspension of direct talks. However, Tehran has rejected the conditions imposed by Washington. Representatives from Qatar and Pakistan are also pursuing mediation efforts and engaging with Iran to ease tensions. The closure of the Strait of Hormuz, a vital route for global oil shipments, remains a major point of contention between the two countries. Iran’s ambassador reportedly said Tehran was ready to reopen the strait if the United States lifted its naval blockade. However, media outlets affiliated with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps denied that any such new proposal had been made.
