A sensational murder case has created shockwaves in West Bengal after the personal assistant of senior BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari was brutally shot dead. Chandranath Rath was attacked on Wednesday night while returning home, and the assailants opened fire at close range. He reportedly collapsed inside his vehicle and died on the spot, triggering massive political and public concern across the state.
Police investigations revealed that the weapon used in the murder was an illegally imported Austrian-made pistol. Authorities suspect that the firearm was smuggled into India from Bangladesh through illegal channels. Kolkata Police have intensified their investigation and are currently tracking down the accused persons involved in the crime. Security agencies are also probing possible cross-border connections linked to the illegal weapon supply.
