Probe into KCR Family’s Lands.. Telangana Government Constitutes Special Committee

The Telangana government has constituted a special committee to inquire into alleged land irregularities, encroachments and violations of rules. The move follows Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s announcement in the State Assembly. Through G.O. Ms. No. 134, the government has tasked the panel with examining 16 issues, including land-related matters involving former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, former ministers K.T. Rama Rao and T. Harish Rao, other former public representatives, their family members and associates. Field-level inquiries will be conducted in several villages across Siddipet, Rangareddy, Rajanna Sircilla, Mahabubnagar and Hyderabad districts.

A. Sridevasena, Commissioner of Collegiate and Technical Education, has been appointed chairperson of the committee. Officials from the Registration and Stamps and Survey and Land Records departments, the Jangaon Collector and the Collector of the concerned district will be associated with the panel. The inquiry will cover alleged violations involving government, assigned, ceiling, jagir, Bhoodan, inam and forest lands, land acquisition and rehabilitation, encroachments in water-resource areas and irregularities in land records. The committee will identify responsibility for any violations and recommend appropriate action. It has also been empowered to obtain records and documents from government departments and local authorities.
