President Murmu Urges Film Stars Not to Endorse Harmful Products

President Droupadi Murmu urged popular film artists to exercise responsibility while endorsing products, particularly those that could be harmful to public health. Addressing the 72nd National Film Awards ceremony at Ekta Nagar in Gujarat, she said popular film artists have a strong influence on the public, especially children and young people. She noted that when successful artists speak about the benefits of a disciplined lifestyle, millions of youngsters tend to follow their example.

The President appealed to popular artists not to endorse substances or products that may harm health and reminded them that fame carries a responsibility towards society. “A true star is one who spreads light, not darkness,” she said. The 72nd National Film Awards ceremony was held at Ekta Nagar, Kevadia, Gujarat, on September 22, 2026.
