PM Modi Receives Uzbekistan’s Highest Honour

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was conferred Uzbekistan’s highest honour for foreign leaders, the ‘Oliy Darajali Do‘stlik’ Order, by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev during his state visit to Tashkent. The award recognises Modi’s contribution to strengthening friendship and bilateral relations between India and Uzbekistan. Modi dedicated the honour to the enduring bond between the two countries.

During their talks in Tashkent, India and Uzbekistan agreed to elevate their relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. The two sides will expand cooperation in infrastructure, digital public infrastructure, artificial intelligence, critical minerals, clean energy, space and nuclear energy. Modi said both countries are aiming to take bilateral trade beyond $5 billion by 2030, while strengthening cooperation for mutual development.
