Amid rising tensions in West Asia, Pakistan has deployed around 8,000 troops to Saudi Arabia. According to senior Pakistani officials, the deployment also includes a squadron of 16 fighter jets and air defense systems. Most of the fighter aircraft in the squadron are reportedly Chinese-made JF-17 jets. These forces are expected to be positioned along Saudi border areas.
Officials stated that the move is part of a bilateral defense agreement between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. The deployment is aimed at strengthening defense readiness in case of any potential attacks from Iran in the future. Meanwhile, Pakistan continues to play a mediating role in US-Iran tensions while simultaneously reinforcing military support to its ally, highlighting a complex diplomatic stance.
