

Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh laid the foundation stone for the PV Sindhu Centre for Sports Excellence in Visakhapatnam. On the occasion, Olympic medalist PV Sindhu said the academy is being designed as an international standard sports facility to meet the needs of athletes for the next 100 years. She also thanked everyone who supported the project from its planning stage.
The academy will feature seven major sports disciplines along with modern training facilities. It will include a 25 metre indoor shooting range and an international standard swimming pool built using Italy’s Myrtha Pools technology, which is used in the Olympic Games. During his visit, Lokesh also received petitions from public representatives and party workers and later inaugurated the IBM Future Now Centre in Visakhapatnam.
